Welcome to the homepage of

Women Of Multicultural Ethnicity Network - W.O.M.E.N. in Iceland

Our association was founded on 24. October 2003. The goal of W.O.M.E.N. is to unite, to express and address the interests and issues of women of foreign origin living in Iceland in order to bring about equality for them as women and as foreigners in all areas of the society.

This homepage contains information about us, issues we are working on and various projects we are engaged in. We will also publish news and announcements about events related to immigrants, women and family issues.

The association is represented by the board, elected every year at the annual meeting.

W.O.M.E.N. in Iceland is open to all women of foreign origin who live in Iceland.

If you would like to join the association or send an enquiry, please send an e-mail to womeniniceland@womeniniceland.is.

What´s on?

The Women´s Choir

We will be performing during The multicultural day of Reykjavik next Saturday, May 12! We need to prepare ourselves for that event, so we will have two practices next week. We´ll meet on Tuesday, May 8 and then again on Thursday, May 10 at Túngata 14 (in the basement, door to the left). Note that we will start at 19:10. Please come few minutes earlier, so that we can start singing on the dot! All women are welcome. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
